The force of Kumiko’s anxious sigh blew a rebellious strand of long, curly, polychromatic hair out of her face as she turned the corner, almost reaching the convenience store she often loitered in without buying a single thing. It drove the owner into a fuming mess and frequently ended with the older man screaming murderous threats and Kumiko walking out with a roll of her eyes and a one-finger salute raised in his direction.
Isleen often wondered what it would be like to have a happy family and friends; not worrying about getting into a major school because kids like that can afford to get lessons and have the space to learn your quirk. Sadly, that was not meant to be for Isleen, instead she had an unfortunate life full of work, and sometimes - although who was she kidding, the amount she usually got was abysmal - sleep.
Or, Kumiko learns that not all men are created equal at a young age. She knows that the world isn't fair, and it sure as hell isn't kind. That doesn't mean she won't raise hell proving all the people who doubted her wrong - even if it takes her a bit to realize. And maybe she'll make a friend on the way who needs to learn this just as much as she does. It can only get better from here, right?
