It’s been hard to interact with people who knew him during it. (He now splits his life into the before, during, and after. It feels as if there were three different Franks living during those times.) He can’t shake the feeling that he’s living inside all of their heads, a character that they’re watching in their favorite TV show. Mel doesn’t look at him like that. She looks at him like he’s still real.
