The thing about Bree Van de Kamp is that you will never hear somebody say she takes the easy way out.  She cooks a home cooked meal every day from scratch for her family, nothing easy, nothing from a can or a tin or a plastic sleeve, not even the day before’s leftovers.  Even when Rex died, even when she found out she was engaged to the man who murdered him, she still spent all her time in the kitchen, sweating from the heat of the oven, apron smattered with flour, skin splattered with batter, practically immune to splashes of hot oil and water.  She has matching scars on the outer side of each wrist from the upper shelf of the tetchy oven Rex wouldn’t let her replace.

    Summary

“Consider how this looks. The Senju proposes peace at the height of their power. The Uchiha, already losing, don’t have the resources to match the Senju. If the Senju provides us with food and armour, the Uchiha must become subordinate. Is that what you think of as peace, Senju? Over at the Uchiha compound, we call that subjugation by the most powerful.”

“It seems that there is only one possible solution: the Senju must choose a symbol to subjugate itself to the Uchiha to balance out the scales. For that role, I volunteer myself.”

The wise ones know: fires can warm and not burn; and rivers, if given strength and permission, will carve the land.

(Or, the one in which Tobirama becomes Madara’s concubine, and peace is won and held through neither power nor love, but food, water, clothes, and medicine.)

    Complete.

    A plan was coming together.

Step One: steal Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Order and make him his Apprentice.

    Step Two: undecided.

He could figure out step two later when they were not in the Jedi Temple.

Maul spun around quickly, swooping down to pretty much just snag Kenobi. He lifted the boy like he was a sack of tubers and threw him over his shoulder. The move had really only worked because the young boy was clearly losing his cool. How unlike Kenobi. He could feel the anger radiating from the youngling. Good, that was good.

    Summary

Perseus Jackson is a son of Poseidon—product of a broken oath, packing more sass than sense, with the ocean’s temper yet none of its mercy, and a prophecy already gunning for him.

But he is also the son of Sally Jackson—the mortal who caught a god’s eye and out-stubborned the storm. Barely out of childhood herself, she wound up with a child who wept pearls and limpet teeth—and still managed to keep him hidden.

A disastrous field trip to the New York Aquarium unravelled all her efforts.

Now six-year-old Percy’s colliding headfirst with Greek mythology, Sally’s stuck refereeing between gods, monsters, and aggressively helpful nature spirits, and the family secret is on life support.

Sure, more protectors might sound nice—until you realize none of them are equipped to wrangle a demigod overflowing divinity, and the only things keeping him hidden anymore are sheer luck, opportunism, and just enough self-delusion to qualify as a superpower.

    OR:
Join feral-child Percy on his quest to spread (minor) chaos, dodge smiting attempts, and collect all his half-siblings like they’re emotionally damaged Pokémon—while fate stumbles after him and heroic deeds get done more or less as an afterthought.
