Thus she recruits the help of one Illyana Rasputina.This story takes place at the beginning of the Krakoa era before Marauders vol. 1 issue #5. In this alternate universe Kitty and Illyana have been a couple for awhile at this point.

Mafia & no mutation AU
Kitty is part of the mercenary team, The Marauders, captained by Ororo Monroe. After receiving a job to infiltrate a meeting between the Rasputin family and all the other Russian crime families of NYC, Kitty finds herself in a tight spot and does the most improv she's ever done since 8th grade drama class. While in the (forced) company of Illyana and her mafia members, Kitty gets to work trying to slip intel out to the other Marauders without getting caught. During this time, Kitty enjoys the power given to her through Illyana's desire for her, realizing she just might be able to influence the mob's every move.
