Hua Cheng is having a regular day at Ghost City when a young boy walks into the Den and asks for help to save his kidnapped father who is no other than the one Hua Cheng has been trying to find for centuries: Xie Lian. The catch? Hua Cheng is the other father and he has no memory of even meeting his beloved thirteen years ago to conceive the said child. Not only that, but Xie Lian is kidnapped and together they have to set on a journey to rescue him.

Summary
On a whim, Hua Cheng decided to listen to some of the prayers he gets from the mortal realm. He discovers a town that has been sending an exuberant amount of prayers to him. All of them beg him to rid their town of a plague that is killing off the villagers one by one.
Curiosity gets the best of him and he decides to venture to this town that prays so ardently to a Ghost King. In this town that proclaims that they worship no gods, he never expects to find the one he’s been searching for for 800 years.
