Complete darkness surrounded him. All he could feel was a wooden box around him and the stale, warm air that was passing through his lips.
He was in a coffin. Trapped underground in a coffin. Because he’d died.
His breath hitched as the memories came flooding back. He’d sold his soul to save Cas. They’d tried to destroy his deal.
Lilith had tricked them. The hellhounds had come.

Gabriel had died but now he was alive somehow.

Reverse verse and alternate season four where Gabriel is the righteous man, Sam is the confused, innocent angel trying to control him, Cas is convinced he has to use his psychic powers to stop Lilith and Dean think Cas is an abomination but later changes his mind.
That might not make much sense but if you like Sabriel and Destiel and Season 4 and 5 are your favourite seasons of Supernatural, you'll probably like this fic!
