Summary
After Osamu Dazai left what was arguably the most powerful underground organization he joined the police, not knowing any type of life that didn't revolve around crime. He quickly became one of their top detectives, second only to Ranpo Edogawa. Even though Dazai had left his old life behind he still had a few criminal connections, including his partner Chuuya Nakahara.
When he gets kidnapped by the infamous Jigsaw and put through a series of tests he again has to choose between his new life in the light or his old criminal connections, and this time no one can tell him what to choose.

Summary
Sure, he's thrown himself into the river and I make a point of calling to make sure he's eaten but that's just how Dazai is. He loves the attention and refuses to take care of himself if he doesn't get it, childish as he may be he is an important asset to the Agency so we all indulge him. But as soon as Nakahara is done hovering I’m telling him that he can't keep acting like a teenage delinquent. He's an adult and it is time he starts acting like one.

Summary
Dazai leaving the mafia was a good choice for him. A really bad day led to better ones. He gained a reliable support system and job that actually cared about him. He got more than three friends, if he could count Ango as a friend.
Dazai leaving the mafia was one of the worst days of Chuuya's life. A really bad day led to worse ones. He lost the only person he could go to after his nightmares. He lost his partner and the only person who was ever there for him. He lost the person who constantly assured him he was human.
or Dazai leaving the mafia affected him and Chuuya in very different ways.
