Vi's entire identity revolved around one fact; she was an older sister. Her only goal in life was to keep her sister and brothers safe from the outside world (and themselves) and follow their dreams. It was why she had decided at the tender age of nine that she wanted to be a vampire hunter; it wasn't her dream- not by a longshot- but so long as she could keep another person from having their lives maliciously ripped away, that was a sacrifice she was willing to make.

He was working on something earlier, but the sounds of hammering metal and mumbled calculations both died out a few minutes ago. There had been a small clatter around then, but it was a laboratory; Mel had thought nothing of it.

And there was Viktor himself. He sat at the window, back to them, still as a statue. His hair was still long, to his shoulders, and he wore a red prison uniform that hung loosely on his small frame. The sun caught the light streaks in his hair and two butterflies danced outside the window.
“Viktor,” Jayce breathed out, relief settling in him at last.
Viktor turned. Jayce saw his own desperation reflected on Viktor’s face. They were moving towards each other, magnets pulled together with no other choice.
He was warm and slight in Jayce’s arms. His hair smelt clean and faintly of citrus. He could feel Viktor’s heartbeat against his own. He shut his eyes and pulled him closer, willing them to merge. Viktor buried his face in his shoulder. He was trembling.
Or the Arcane spits Viktor and Jayce back out after ten years have passed. No one knows what to do with them, themselves included. Between the tensions in the Undercity, remains of Viktor's cult, and too much politics, they try to find a way to live again.

Cait’s eyes lock onto her, her shoulders, her back, eyeing her movements as she slowly turns and sits in a chair, clothed legs spread wide and domineering. She feels a rouge begin to build in her cheeks, spreading out to her ears and neck. She feels hypnotized by her, watching the muscles in her neck stretch as she throws her head back in a sultry laugh, the camera just low enough to deprive Caitlyn of her face. She hovers over the window to hear the stream’s sound. She speaks, and her voice is like velvet. Smooth, husky and low, lulling Cait into pleasant heat as if she’s talking directly into her ear. Arousal humming beneath her skin, she pushes her mouse toward the link to open, reading the woman’s name.

Caitlyn hates Jayce.
This may be an exaggeration, and those exact words may be an outright lie, but right now? She's praying that he gets struck down by lightning and that there's rat poison in that plastic cup he's holding.
His pleading words of "Come on, Cait! It's just a party, and I want you to go meet people! See stuff that's not the walls of your dorm! You know, socialize!" and "Just one night. Then I'll never mention it again." along with Mel's encouraging, "What's the worse that could happen?" ring in her ears, loud and mocking.
All it took was one night, one party, one single time, for powder-blue eyes to march their way right back into her life, still as vibrant and beautiful as they had been seven years ago, staring at her as if Cait’s not supposed to be more than an illusion.
