Summary
The nuns spoke of small temples out by the sea and high up in the mountains, hidden in nature, who housed airbenders just like them, who had slightly different rules.
They spoke of islands with large and beautiful temples that also housed airbenders just like them, who followed even more different rules, and who had sky bison and flying lemurs who looked a bit different, but were the same nonetheless.
Those Airbenders would visit the Western and Southern Temple yearly to partake in their festivals, teachings and friendship.
And in turn, the nuns and the monks would visit the small and large temples to partake in their festivals and teachings. Letting the children mingle with each other, learn different ways of living and build long lasting friendships, just like they had.
Some of the elders and teachers from the Northern and Eastern temples, set in their ways, would speak in hushed whispers of nuns and monks who didn't take a vow of non-violence, who fought and were willing to take up arms and defend, kill even, for what they believed in.
