It's been almost seven years since Smokey last saw Doc.
Of course, he wouldn't have expected the kid to ever come back, but alas, Doc is still as unpredictable as always.
So, when he shows up late into the night, looking for Smokey's help, he's not gonna turn him down. Even if he has no idea what being a full-time crew chief entails.
