Summary
After thousands of years, monsters are finally free!
However…only Frisk is realizing what “free” might really mean, and now she’s afraid that the world she led them into might be so far gone that it could kill monster-kind.
How could she explain to the people who had put all their faith in the surface what a nuclear bomb was? How could she tell them all she’d already given up, once, before she’d ever begun claiming there was hope?
Now she’s scrambling to protect them while violence begins to escalate and whispers of “the third” are beginning to circulate. But Asriel is still back there, and Frisk refuses to leave him behind. Besides, she still has questions to answer. Why was the Underground like a twisted mess of black tendrils that all wad up in some central dark mass? Sans calls it an anomaly in time-space. Frisk thinks it’s more like a pane of glass, struck from the center.
All she knows for sure is, to give monsters a safe world to live in, to let humanity finally have some peace, she’ll take the world as she knows it and tear it apart with her own hands, even if it means destroying herself along the way and never finding home.
