Summary
Hobie eyed Miles suspiciously. There was something wrong with the teen, he just knew it. A few months ago, he had swung by Earth-1610 just to see how everything was going. He had caught up with Miles mid-patrol and the two had explored the city together. Eventually they had stopped for snacks on top of a roof and got to talking. Quietly Miles had mentioned he was having trouble sleeping, but brushed aside Hobie’s concern.
Looking back now, he probably (definitely) should have pushed. Miles’s suit was bunching at the wrists and sides, not fitting skin tight like it was supposed to and his skin had adopted a borderline sallow complexion. The skin underneath his eyes were bruised, though Hobie could tell it wasn’t from a fight.
