Summary
Inspired by the idea of a "born-again identity," and "reading is fundamental". Set in the real world without demons or angels:
Scraping by on the edge of poverty, Dean Winchester had always fought to do what was right. His boots, worn to the soles, felt heavier than ever as he walked the thin line between wakefulness and exhaustion. His life had become a constant struggle, a fight to stay afloat when everything around him seemed intent on pulling him under.
Desperation led him to seek out Emmanuel—a faith healer with a reputation for fixing any ailment, whether physical or mental. Emmanuel claimed he could heal what others couldn’t, offering more than just a cure, but a chance at redemption. But when Dean finally met him, his heart—burdened with years of regret and loss—became heavier and more broken than ever before.

Summary
Tired of his simple and conforming life, Castiel decides to move away from his city life to a small town by the mountains in Montana. Deciding to begin this new chapter of his life with an adventure, Castiel signs up for a hike across a glacier. With his heart in his throat and a hot hiking guide named Dean Winchester on his knees to help him with the harness, Castiel manages the hike, coming back time after time; for nature and for Dean. A small town leaves little room for anonymity and between his shifts at the hospital and the glacier hikes, Dean is determined not to let Cas waste his time away in his small apartment. It doesn't take long until a friendship is formed between them. But Castiel didn't leave the city without reason and there is only so long he can keep his real life at bay.
OR

Summary
Castiel’s soul mark always felt more like a burden than a blessing. He never expected to find a match, someone he could imagine sharing his life with - not until Dean Winchester. Castiel and his brother Gabriel work as soul mark artists, tattooing those not born with marks; Gabriel does the tattooing and, with his thorough botanical knowledge, Cas makes the inks. But when they go to an estate for a young man named Sam Winchester, Cas discovers that knowing the language of flowers is a far cry from knowing the language of love. How can he convince Dean, a man so rarely able to make his own choices who hates his own soul mark, that being together is worth it, regardless of whether the universe says they’re meant to be or not?

Summary
[podfic version] Cas and Dean are radio DJs who host the second most popular morning show in Lawrence. They’ve been co-hosts for years at different stations across the country, and they own a house together out of necessity, even though they’re just friends. But for some reason, a lot of their listeners and even some of their friends and family seem to think that they’re secretly in some kind of relationship, which they’re totally not (besides that one time that totally doesn’t count). In spite of that, Dean thinks he’s got everything figured out, until an ill-fated on air game of Truth or Dare turns everything upside down (and the billboards around town aren’t helping either).

Summary
Dean Winchester, a mechanic living just outside of town, is a man of simple tastes. He enjoys sleeping in when he can, he loves to savour a slice of apple pie after a hard day of work, and above all, he cherishes the tranquility and scenery of his remote residence.
While he is far from being antisocial, despite what some might say about him, he still prefers keeping to himself.
Which is why when he meets his new summer neighbour, Castiel Novak, who is a morning person planning on staying longer than the usual two-week tenants, Dean is annoyed.
When he gets to know the guy and realizes how smart, insightful and attractive Castiel really is, Dean then begins to worry.
But when he needs to remind himself how very much engaged the man is, Dean grows desperate and infuriated with himself for having fallen for him.If only he knew that Castiel has sought refuge at this charming house by the lake to reflect on certain aspects of his life, notably his engagement, which is much more of an agreement between friends than an actual engagement.
A fact that has been weighing on Castiel’s mind.
Until he meets Dean. Then, everything becomes very clear. -

Summary
(Inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma)
Dean Winchester has everything. He’s got a great house, a steady job, a beautiful car, a loyal best friend, and (most importantly) an abundance of great advice. He wants nothing more than for everybody else in his life to know what it feels like to be as happy as he is.After successfully seeing his brother Sam married off to Eileen Leahy, Dean turns his attention to his newest friend: Charlie Bradbury. Despite his best friend Cas’s apprehensions, Dean does his best to improve her life. Thing is, none of his attempts at matchmaking seem to work. In fact, Dean’s carefully laid plans for Charlie (and for himself) quickly start to fall apart. Why is Charlie so oblivious? And why is Dean so upset when Cas’s ex returns to town?
Dean’s got a lot to learn about his family and friends, but mostly, he’s got a lot to learn about himself.

Summary
Despite everything they’ve all been through, despite the betrayals and the complicated relationships, the nine of them share a lot of history. They understand things that few other people can truly comprehend; things that make it hard to relate to “normal” people, even in the context of their very unusual lifestyles. So, once in a while, they all put aside their issues, get together, and catch up. Because really, underneath it all, they honestly do like each other. (Yes, even Crowley.)

"Dean straightened his tie – he hated wearing them, but it was the only way to not stick out like a sore thumb at a wedding. Although, if he went through with this, his attire would be the least of everyone’s concerns."
