A year has passed since Legolas and Elrohir were wed beneath Greenwood’s leaves, their love steady as light through the trees. Peace has lingered, fragile and golden, but peace seldom lasts.
When autumn deepens, they journey west beyond the forest, seeking quiet roads and the simple beauty of the mortal world. Yet the land feels changed, heavy with silence. In a small village wrapped in mist, whispers rise of seregrog—blood spirits said to descend from Thuringwethil’s brood, thought long vanished from the world.
What begins as unease becomes fear, and fear becomes truth. Something walks by night, unseen but watching, drawn to light, and to love that burns too brightly.
Together, Elrohir and Legolas must face what lingers in the dark, where desire and death entwine, and the line between beauty and horror blurs. For where the light falters, shadows remember, and evil waits to be named again.

So when I wrote another fic (trauma bonding) Annatar was put in jail by Elrond among other elves. I loved writing Elrond strong and commanding over Annatar. Then for this one, you have to know that if Maiar partake in earthly activities it weakens them, in the sense that it binds them to their hroa, their body. You also have to know that Elrond's great grandmother, Luthien, defeated Sauron and sent him crying and hiding in the Silmarillion.

Arwen is still very young, at least for an Eldar, when she first hears admiring whispers comparing her to Lúthien Tinuviel, a night when she dances under the stars in the gardens of Imladris. No doubt it is a compliment, in the mouths of those who pronounce it, but Arwen already feels the fate weighting on her shoulders. She knows the day she must make her Choice is still far away, but how can she not think of Lúthien every day of her life? When she meets Aragorn almost three thousand years later, she will have spent an eternity weighing her choice.

This is a weird one-shot I wrote half for Doriath week on Tumblr, half because I'm a depressed bitch even though it's October and also I planned it in an hour in philosophy class and wrote it at midnight that same day while being under the influence of drug-like novels. Yeah, that happens a lot. Like Angela Carter. She makes my brain go wonky. Sorry, this was really going to be like the other one in the series (Nature Morte) but then shit happened and I sort of lost my focus point. Anywaaaaaay, the summary is: Melian mourns Thingol's death and disappears into the forest.
