Mal should be happy.
After ditching their plan to take over Auradon, and deciding to be good, everything had worked out for them. Auradon was safe, her friends were happy, she’s dating the prince, and their parents were far, far away from them now.
But Mal isn't happy.
Or;
In which Mal can't deal with the pressure being Ben's girlfriend brings, or the strain on their relationship when her lie is revealed. Can't deal with the clean, ‘perfect’ royal life she's secured for herself in Auradon, nor the way she arguably got the best position out of the four and yet she fits in the least.
So she goes back.
Back to the isle. To the villains, to the dirt, the gangs, the violence, the enemies she's made. Back to the clubhouse, back to what she knows. Someplace she can finally be in control again.
She reconciles with her past, and realizes how different things are now, how different she is as well. But when the others come to get her, she isn't sure she can leave.
