Two-Time’s face flushed deeper, a slow burn that spread from their cheeks down to their neck. Their eyes darted anywhere but his, unable— or unwilling to meet the calm, predatory gaze observing them so intently.
“No matter.” Azure’s tone dipped, mocking. “All that matters is seeing if I can… claw out a few more noises like that.”

Once he’d finished cutting, he moved to decorations. Two Time had found the time to grow their favorite elusive, poisonous flowers; nightshade. He picked two from the basket, and tied it into their hands. He put one in his stomach, the purple contrasting the red beautifully. Oh, everything about Two Time was beautiful. He needed them to be part of him forever. He put two flowers in their ears, tied a few in their hair, and put one in the rubberband around their wrist. He stuck two in his eyes, jammed them through the pupil to stick them in proper. He put one in their mouth.
And finally, he put one in the aorta of their heart, for dessert.
