Summary

Summary
This is a longfic retelling of my BG3 playthrough with my half-elf bard, Averyll Springheart with a heavy focus on his romance with Astarion (and a bit later including Halsin). The main plot drives my story forward, but those big events are glossed over through journal entries as I turn my focus to the characters and their relationships.

The epilogue for my character, Ser Baldwin of Steadby, after the end of our five-year campaign. At the end of the last session, Baldwin survived a nigh-impossible Con save with a Nat 20, which meant that he survived instead of becoming a saint or dying for the cause he believed in. This effectively turned what would have been a tragic but satisfying absolution into a very difficult ending for Baldwin, who had begun the campaign as an alcoholic war veteran. The characters Beez and Hashût belong to friends of mine and were there through all or much of the campaign. The only sex scene in this takes place completely off camera.

The campaign failed. The four adventurers lost. They woke up in the castle of the eldritch lord who broke them - changed, corrupted, and strangely alive. Not as heroes, but as aestheticized, fetishistic parodies of monsters, all under the looming dominance from the master of the castle.
This is not a heroic epic. It's a collection of twisted little tales - sometimes comedy, sometimes slice-of-life, sometimes horror, sometimes another. The prisoners bicker, adapt, and reclaim back themselves in their new bodies and their new lives. Although beneath it all, runs the truth that the villain won, and they are still here. But even then, does it matter anyways?
Fragments from before the fall, after the castle, and everything in between. Episodic and disjointed, a collage instead of a continuity. Maybe a little bit comedic, kinky, and tragic. Definitely from a weird and perverse premise, like, definitely. So, with all that said, enjoy the madness!
