A strangers to friends to lovers story.
Stede Bonnet, the owner of a bookstore, encounters a kind stranger and ends up forming an unexpected friendship with restaurant (bar & grill) owner, Edward Teach.
An embarrassing incident leads to an act of kindness beyond what a normal stranger would do for someone. Stede is conflicted with the feelings that flutter in his heart at the thought of Ed and his kindness. He's met with the choice to pursue a friendship with the hot owner or run as far away as possible, hoping they never cross paths again.
However, after discovering their respective businesses are only a block apart, it becomes inevitable to pass by the restaurant without potentially bumping into Ed. With each encounter, Stede’s feelings grow for this stranger.
So Stede kind of likes Ed. Only kinda.
But how far will he go to pursue this stranger?
Very far, apparently.

“Where are my things?” Stede walks over and picks up his shirt as if his trousers might be hiding under it.
“Someone else must’ve taken them by mistake,” Chauncey replies innocently. “Gosh.”
“I’m sure there’ll be some suitable clothes for you in the Lost & Found bin!” Nigel adds, a grin on his face.
After a tennis class, Stede discovers that Nigel and Chauncey have dumped his clothes on the tennis court, leaving Stede to the mercy of the Lost & Found bin. The tennis skirt not be ideal for fence-climbing, but Stede is going to try anyway.
So of course Edward Teach, owner of the wakeboarding park next door, finds Stede struggling and offers his help.
