After the incident of portals opening from different multiverses passed, Wade Wilson popped into Peter Parker's universe. Meanwhile, Peter throws himself into work as Spider-man to try and forget those he made forget him in turn. But when he finds one stray portal that never closed and falls into it, will he be able to come back, or will he be stuck in the DCU?
This is my first fanfic, so please give me some grace. Updates will be sporadic. Also I wasn't aware that placeholders weren't allowed, so to everyone who saw this fic before its first chapter came out, I'm sorry!
This is on possibly permanent hiatus. I shouldn't have even started it, I have to much crap going on right now to be doing this. I'm sorry.

Percy has just returned from war (his second one) and nothing is right. He’s got weapons in his hands, and he is burdened by the deaths of everyone, because he was responsible. They trusted him, and he failed. And how is he supposed to be at home and normal, when all he has ever known is violence? (Sometimes, he thinks he went from abused to abuser, because look at him. He’s a monster).
He can’t handle normal life.
Peter is struggling between his identities. Sometimes he’s just Peter. Then he’s Spider-Man. Then he’s Night Crawler (a fucked up version of Spider-Man that is more demon than man). It’s too hard to sort out, not when the weight of his problems is —sometimes literally— crushing him into nothing.
They are both monsters in their own eyes, neither looking for the light. But they can help each other find the light, the purpose of life.
Or they can just…not. That works too.
(I’m affectionately calling this the Pun series, because I find it goofy)

This retelling takes place after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, but Peter goes to Gotham plot point happened before that movie, and after the whole Infinity War thing. It's not a huge deal. Anyways, Wade is nosey and annoying but we love him. Peter is so done with all of this and needs a year of vacation.
