Everything was over. Rusty had lost, and he hadn’t a thing to show for his experience. Diesel beat steam, and it was as Poppa said, Steam can’t race. Rusty couldn’t even show his father there was hope before he died. Rusty couldn’t even bare to bring himself outside his shed. Only coming out when Control forced him to.
Now it’s that time of year again. Time for all of the engines to brag and argue. Except without Rusty racing this year, a spot is open in the race. Which leads to a certain Irish Train to take his place.
