Kakuzu sells out Hidan to Konhona for money, leaving Hidan in the hands of Ibiki. But, Ibiki has trouble getting information out of Hidan regarding the Akatsuki. Kakashi offers to help him and pays Hidan a vist. To only be interrupted by Tobi.

“Hidan-Senpai!” A voice suddenly spoke behind Kakashi. Both Kakashi and Hidan jerked in that direction. A masked man dressed in the signature Akatsuki cloak stood there and made a dramatic pose, his cloak flaring behind him like a cape. “Tobi’s here to save you!”Kakashi’s eyes narrowed. So, this was Tobi?
Hidan cringed, “I rather be sacrificed to Lord Jashin than be saved by a fucker like you!”

Having being shot into the past of an alternate dimension with no way of getting back home - Naruto decides that the only thing he can do now is to try and stop his future happening to this timeline, getting together with Kakashi and forming an awkward familial with his now alive dad is just a happy little upside.
But he doesn't seem to realise how deep in the shit this timeline is until his peaceful little bubble is broken by sightings of the Akatsuki popping up 3 years too early, despite learning that most of the members in his timeline's Akatsuki were either dead or haven't even been heard of.
With just enough differences to make his knowledge of the future unstable - how will Naruto make sure to protect his precious people from harm this time after having already lost most of them in a war only he knows of?

This is just so entirely self-indulgent, after finishing probably every time-travel Naruto fic on here I needed to write my own - this is not beta- read at all so the formatting is probably going to be overly awkward to read but I really hope at least someone enjoys this indulgent mess.

He ranted about the project he was working on and how the client hadn’t met a deadline, messing up his schedule for the entire week while Kakashi loaded the trunk with bags. The cart was empty before he knew it, Iruka feeling terrible about taking advantage of Kakashi’s generosity once more.
“You must think me a horrible person that can’t do anything right,” Iruka said.
“No, I don’t. Everyone has off days. If you have time, want to grab smoothies at the park and talk for a few?” Kakashi asked.
“I wish I could, but I have a friend coming over for dinner and ice cream in the trunk,” Iruka apologized, “Rain check?”
“That would be lovely,” Kakashi replied with a smile, “What time is your friend leaving? I’d still like to call you but don’t want to intrude on your time with them.”
“He should be leaving by nine at the latest. Would you like me to text you?”
“No, I’ll call you around nine,” Kakashi said, leaning over and pecking Iruka’s cheek, “Be careful on your way home.”
“You too,” Iruka said, absently touching his cheek as Kakashi walked away.
