“Can you believe this bullshit? Sending us off to litter pick statement details like the fucking Wombles?”
Sasha laughs. “Chin up, Uncle Bulgaria. Think of it like a spooky little school trip.”
Tim’s head quirks to one side. He visibly perks up.
“That… that helps, weirdly.” He nods at Sasha’s tote bag. “The most important question on a school trip, what have you got for lunch? Is it a sad glob of cold lasagne? Carrots and hummus in a facsimile of maturity? Might it be, dare I hope, the humble yet mighty Tesco meal deal?”
Sasha raises her eyebrows, a smug smile beginning to settle across her face. Then, one by one, she deposits her main, side and drink on the table. “Clubcard price, baby.”
