Summary
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” He slams one of his fists into the ground then flattens it again. He has to control himself. The burning behind his eyes is not subsiding. He tries again.
Breath in. Hold. Breath out.
He really tries to continue breathing, but all he could think about was her. Vanilla, the crunching of fall leaves, sugar cookies, cardamom, a thunderstorm, curry. Flashes of warm eyes and raven hair flood his mind. He presses his palms into his eye sockets, trying to push down the burning. Why was she so cruel? He knew he probably deserved it, he had fucked up with her, so why did it hurt so bad? Why did it feel like everything was caving in on him? Why had he even tried with her in the first place?
