Erwin Smith, the seemingly enclosed and precise teacher meets you, the presumably introverted, shy, golden student.
Despite you having no actual goal for you life, and the fact that you were doing things by inercia -like even entering college wasn't a big deal- you were unaware of how far you would go for a man with a past just as troublesome as yours.
Oh... what did two piercing blue eyes and the strong determination of a man did to you? Maybe this was the signal you've been waiting for, maybe this was the turning point.
