Summary
After meeting under devastating circumstances, Maglor and Maeglin are then picked up by the most unlikely of people. However, passage on a flying ship is anything but a modest expense. This is particularly so when one has committed grave villainy against their saviors.
It was meant as a small and reluctant act of mercy, one would even further complicate the barely healing dynamics of the Elvish factions in Valinor. There are rifts that will never close, and their appearance only seems cause further erosion. Although, with a slowly reassembling House of Finwë and some meddlesome Ainur, they may find their way.

Summary
My attempt at reconciling all the contradictory statements (and how contradictory they are) regarding Aredhel's story. A massive thank you to Esmeraude11 for much Middle-earth discussion, and suggesting Celegorm/Aredhel when I was working on my gap-filling.
NB: Eöl tends to upset me to write about. :(

Summary
They never talked about it, after the fact. Four times they met, four times they found if not comfort then companionship in each other’s arms, four times Fingolfin used his nephew and deluded himself into calling it an equal exchange. And those were only the times in which they truly coupled. There were others, brief moments stolen in dark corners, senseless rutting and stifled moans, wandering hands and whispered promises. A hundred little instances that stacked and toppled into Fingolfin’s fall from grace.

Summary
It might have been a short story, a simple one. Two princesses: one dark, one light. A noble knight, pure of heart. Love requited, love spurned. A prophecy. A curse.
But only young rivers run straight. Told enough times, a tale wears at its boundaries, begins to twist and bow and braid…

Summary
Eol suggests that he should get a bride as a diplomatic gift during negotiations. He may have fast tracked his own death by a couple centuries by, instead of kidnapping Fingon and Turgon’s sister without their knowledge, choosing to repeatedly harass a Feanorian in a meeting where all of her brothers are present. This is universally considered a bad move as this time he is not messing with someone who has a sister related kinslaying waver but people who didn’t have qualms about kinslaying to begin with.

(Easier to disdain the flesh itself, when what you resent most is the ravenous desire, gnawing, keening, unanswered– too deeply rooted to ever fully excavate or outrun. Why does it feel so monstrous to want to be wanted?)
(To want your body to be your own?)

Summary
Princess Idril would find her missing aunt and bring her home if it was the last thing she did. With her most loyal knight and betrothed Tuor, they set upon the search after hearing the rumors of a Lady in White vanishing into the dark trees of a haunted forest ruled by a terrible and cruel Elf Lord.
They did not expect to stumble upon an elf of great beauty when they find her, nor find her cursed and unable to leave without a sacrifice. Assuming that this beast had kidnapped her, they selflessly offer to trade themselves in exchange for Aredhel's freedom. And so, they curse themselves to spend their days trapped in her place, until they can convince their jailor to break his enchantments. If only that were the true story.

Summary
“As Maeglin grew to full stature he resembled in face and form rather his kindred of the Noldor, but in mood and mind he was the son of his father.”
In a different timeline, Maeglin son of Eöl grew into an elf far different than his father. Rather than a silver-tongued, ambitious, and dark elf ruled by lust and greed, Gondolin gains a terrified and quiet boy who fears the light and everyone in it.
Or
Maeglin's life consists of cages and restrictions, and he just wants freedom, even when he doesn't know what freedom even is.The course of history may not be altered significantly, but in the ways that matters, it can bend.
