Quinn trembled slightly, but leaned in—his tail slowly curling around Dante's leg like an anchor.
"We're all messed up," Dante admitted with a soft chuckle. "Hell, we're half-demon and emotionally stunted. What did you expect?"
That got a tiny huff of laughter from Quinn.
And then—quietly—from Vergil:

Both brothers looked at him.
He stood stiffly by the bed, eyes downcast—but his voice was steady now. Certain.
"Just… changed."
He didn’t move closer…

Vergil, pompous, stubborn, half-man half-devil that he is, does not believe in things like love. Whether it's due to his trauma, or he just views these things as a weakness (he does) he does not bother with it. He has no room for love.
Until he meets Julia; Nero's adoptive mother, whom he's only had for a few months since Vergil & Dante left Nero behind.
Julia, in Vergil's judgmental eyes, is perfection: beautiful, smart, wise, & powerful. Powerful enough to intimidate even him. What's more, she chooses him. Admires & flirts, reads him like a book, challenges without over-stepping, even understands his annoyance of Dante (a bonus).
Vergil's demonic side agrees as well. And while it watches this beautiful & powerful woman protect & love Nero as her own, it starts screaming at Vergil to do more than watch. It wants to claim. Vergil wants this women as much as he wanted absolute power. And it terrifies him.
Let's see if this golden ball of light & love can break through Vergil's cold demeanor & loneliness, even teach him a thing or two. About love & being father.

Evangeline was surprised by this man's height, and not to mention that she had never seen such striking beauty. She even wondered if this man was some kind of albino model. En resumen: Wilhelmina tiene demasiados problemas. Y no tiene idea de por dónde empezar a resolverlos.
Porque mientras el mayor de los hijos de Sparda levanta torres demoníacas en medio de la ciudad, el menor tiene la mala costumbre de golpear antes de hablar.
