Summary
Mutants have lived among ordinary people for as long as society itself. Way back when, there wasn't exactly a name for them. They were the gifted, the wise, the enlighted ones. As quickly as those names came, so came the hatred upon those who were different.
So, mutants it was. Scientists would say it was due to a mysterious genetic phenomenum that gave these people fantastic - and sometimes dangerous - abilities. The government then created a system to categorize mutants according to their power level. And so the MAD, or Mutant Affairs Division, was born.
The helpful MAD officers would always remind mutants that their powers could be used for good. It was mostly all talk. But to some, it opened a small window of opportunity.
One which a young Remus Starling would seize to follow his dream of being a superhero.
This is what happens when he succeeds.
