“Nowhere to run now, huh?” One of them sneered, taking a step closer.
Tubbo glanced over his shoulder as his heels scraped the ledge, small pieces of obsidian crumbling at his feet. He held his hands up in surrender, “Surely we can make a deal, or something?” He said nervously.
“Sorry, kid. That’s not how things work around here.” He snarled.
Tubbo’s eyes darted between the two players. The air was tense, and each waited for the other to make a move. The screech of a Ghast broke the heated silence, and his two pursuers flinched hard, eyes darting in the direction of the sound only for a millisecond. But the damage was done, and Tubbo took his chance. His hand flew towards the pocket of his inventory, and he flung out an end crystal onto the obsidian directly in front of him. They both let out surprised shouts, reeling backwards, but it was too late. Tubbo pulled out his dagger in the blink of an eye, and without a second thought, blindly slashed the crystal in front of him.

How was a boy found in a box?
Tubbo was born on 2b2t, and the world is unforgiving. Strength is everything, everyone is just fighting to survive a single day. He is no exception. But he would give anything for just a taste of something better.
Philza is supposed to be visiting… but he falls for a common trap, fails his shopping trip, and finds someone to protect in the process.
This story is loosely based on day one of this year's Whumptober, inspired by the prompt: "All Trussed up and nowhere to go. Barbed wire, bound"

Summary
Tubbo's life wasn't the shabby, but clean, intact house he was residing in now. It wasn't the forest he had seen just behind the door, the one that spoke of life and peace. And it couldn't be real, the boy sitting in front of him, wearing a furrowed brow and tired, still sleepy eyes, as he wrapped the clean bandages around his bruised torso. Kind, patient, nothing like anyone he had ever met here before.
Tubbo gets saved by a stranger. And with that, he struggles with the idea that even here, on 2b2t, he can find people to trust. And that maybe, the both of them don't have to be so lonely anymore.A direct continuation of the fic "I shouldn't trust you, but you saved my life" by Varalian, after chapter 3!
