    Gotham burns; it’s light and color and it carves itself into Tim’s eyelids. He’s never seen so much color, so many smells and sounds and life. Gotham has a beating heart, beaten and black as it is, and Tim loves it. It is dark and bright and death and life, the paradoxical society of evil and stolen innocence and good and charity in technicolor, the stars covered and the sky glowing all the same. Gotham gives Tim hope; Gotham is the dark fighting for the right, the survival of light against all odds.

    Tim aches for it; for a heart that beats and lungs that breathe and blood that bleeds in color. It’s unattainable. Tim is Timothy, is Leviathan, is crumpled-paper skin and stark black veins and eyes that glow blue in the dark and silent footsteps and a torn-out heart frozen and dead. His blood is made of ice. He is ice; Mother made it so.

    Years later, Batman is dealing with a new, silent threat in Gotham. This group strikes hard and fast, and conquers a disturbingly large chunk of territory. Despite their two years of existence, Batman still knows nothing about them. No one escapes Batman for this long unless they're good...too good.

    So, when Batman finally gets his answers, only to find that this terrifying group of individuals is barely more than a teenage coffee-addict and his two actually scary older brothers, what is a vigilante with adoption issues to do?

    Tim blinked when the power abruptly went out, casting the room in darkness.

    “Oh.”

    There was a silence for a moment, before he noticed there was a faint luminescent glow, yet so very noticeable in the pitch black background.

    “Is that a lamp? Where’s the light coming from?” Someone, probably Dick, questioned, before he realized, ‘oh, they’re talking about him’.

    Sadly, his panic made his eyes widen, which only made the unnatural light even more conspicuous.

    “Tim, is that–”

    He blurted out the first thing that came to mind, “I ate a flashlight!”

    His thoughts had wandered back to that really old meme where a person shook themselves, started glowing, and said, ‘I swallowed a flashlight’. God that was so stupid.

    There was quite a noticeable silence, that only seemed to prolong his awaiting death sentence (when did he get so dramatic?).

    Well, this has happened.

    “But why would that make your eyes–”

    First excuse coming to mind, go. “I have tapetum lucidum! Y-You know, the thing that makes cats eyes glow and lets them see better in the dark, haha—”

Its a normal day in this hell of a city. Though when dealing with magic? Things tend to change faster than the tides of the ocean.

    Or;

    Tim gets hit in the fight with a mage looking to leach magic from Gotham's catacombs and finds himself swapped with another version of himself, nothing in his life is a coincidence and within the chaos of trying to find a way home, dark secrets get pulled to light and shatter illusions that had been carefully constructed. Only time will tell if this is where they find themselves in ruin or closer than they ever could've imagined.

    Where I'm going to put all the sad shit. I doubt I'll have much of it, because I don't write a lot of presentable angst, but yeah. Angst: here.

    Edit: "I don't write a lot of angst," yeah right. I have 15k of angst (as of Feb. 10, 2021) that would say otherwise. I mean. That's not "a lot" a lot. But it's way more than I would have expected. 15k is 13ish% of 114k (which is my total overall wordcount as of Feb. 2021). That means that over a tenth of all my wordcount, right now, is angst.

    Granted, I'm pretty sure over 50% is TimKon. I'm tempted to do the math for that, now... "what percent of my overall wordcount is TimKon" lmao.
