Summary
After the Spire, Pure Vanilla Cookie and the Gingergang head back to the Vanilla Kingdom. Pure Vanilla, not wanting to tire the children out after such an exhausting journey, insists they stay in the Vanilla Kingdom until they are ready to return to their kingdom.
Pure Vanilla takes some time to reflect the night after sorting out rooms for Gingerbrave and his friends. He roams his castle, going from room to room, doing nothing but thinking, about his friends, about the spire, about Shadow Milk Cookie. Why had he not accepted his request to be friends?
Suddenly, his souljam started to glow and vibrate. The vibrations and pulses were strong, as if the souljam wanted to break itself from the inside out. Before Pure Vanilla could move a muscle, there was a blinding light, and Pure Vanilla could only shield his eyes from the sight.
As the light started to die down, Pure Vanilla looked up, and it was as if he had seen a ghost. But it would have to be, because the Cookie hovering before him couldn't be the same one who had rejected him. Why was he here? What did he come for? What was his plan?

Blood Cake is surrounded by political and psychological strife; the Ancients ultimately lost the battle at the end of the B-Y arc, although DE has been defeated (and fused with WL). Each Beast took their respective Ancient prisoner, though they each have very different plans for them. Blood Cake is not knowledgeable enough to understand the implications of the actions of the adults around her, but she isn't unaware that the people she cares about are upset. This story is told through her eyes.

GingerBrave would be lying if he said he didn’t wish for things to be like they used to, before he met and befriended the ancient cookies. Fun, simple adventures with regular cookies just like him! And so, he gathered his closest friends, Wizard cookie and Strawberry cookie, for a quick hike outside the kingdom walls. That’s when they saw a cookie getting attacked by cake-hounds! A cookie who looked suspiciously similar to GingerBrave himself. He was very excited to meet and befriend another plain ol’ regular cookie like himself... and yet...
The cookie seems to know too little about regular things (how can anyone have lived and never have tried jelly jam toast before?) while knowing too much about what should be a secret to most regular cookies. And so what should have been a simple friendship turns into something more sinister.
