III sighs, forcing himself to sit upright in spite of the ache in his back and the dizziness that threatens to turn into nausea the longer that he goes without water. Dehydration was always a pain in the ass, but after three straight nights of partying, his body is practically begging for relief. He eyes the text once again, re-reading it over and over until the full weight of the words sink in. Every text he ever receives from Vessel feels like a tether around his chest, and he can’t decide whether to pull free or suffocate quietly in compliance with his wishes.
It reels him in closer to a self-image that he doesn’t want to recognize.
The point is, III doesn’t want to go.

Would Andrew ever really call himself a modern rock or metal fan? For all extents of the word, not really, no. Being in Louisville, Kentucky in September, however, meant only one thing: Louder Than Life. If you’re anyone who’s anyone in the music world, then you know that Louder Than Life is one of the biggest music festivals in the states, smack dab in the midwest.
Of course, being someone who’s someone in the music world, Andrew had bought himself a day pass to Friday’s festivities. Headliners: Avenged Sevenfold, All Time Low, Dream Theater, Hatebreed, and Sleep Token. All Time Low was a classic that just about everyone and their mothers who had a 2000s emo person in their life knew, Avenged Sevenfold was a name he’d heard in passing, Dream Theater and Hatebreed were completely unknown to him, but Sleep Token was who stood out.
