“Hey, uhm, so... I brought this for you…” He looked back at the material that rested on his arm, feeling the weight of it. “Well, I guess it’s more returning it because you…left it with me.”
He slowly forced his body to move close enough to place the jacket down at the base of the headstone; it felt almost as if he was giving up a limb to a creature that could attack any second.
“You left it with me, so... It wasn't weird I kept it; I mean, it wasn't like I could return it.” He paused his sentence to give himself a reassuring nod, more to convince himself of what he was saying. “You left it with me.” He quietly sniffled, turning his head to face away. “It’s yours, so it felt kind of morbid when I wore it.”
