None of them expected to craft a little family, holding strong through every nightmare that came because of what Shoto was. None of them expected to ever have lives full of love, loyalty and devotion, and would NEVER allow one another to be hurt. Too bad it was so often out of their control.
Or in which Shoto is half ghoul with constant problems, Keigo had no idea he wanted a family, and Touya just wanted what was best for his abused baby brother.

"Shouto let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “I like mom’s hair.” He wasn’t quite ready to say ‘I want hair like mom’ but this still, in context implied the right meaning. It also left him a window of deniability if things went south.
But it was true. His moms hair was silky smooth and loose at her shoulders. She had bangs like him, something he was grateful for. It was flowy in the wind and sparkled like snow in the sun. If his hair was anything like that, perhaps he wouldn’t have such a hard time looking the way he does. Maybe the envy would die down a bit."

Also i realized too late that the title was deceiving. This is not an angsty fic. Just yearning and fluff! (I'm just a big fan a mitski and couldn't resist the reference)
