Maybe, he’s not the only one haunted by ghosts.

Summary
This is a Steve and Bucky character study based on the alternate version of Captain America: The First Avenger that lives in my head.
I originally planned it as the first part of the written form of the alternate version of the Marvel Universe that lives in my head, but my head hurt so much when I tried to write it, so I thought it would be better to live without it.
But I still wrote these two chapters, so I might as well give them a sense. -

Summary
War is one of those rare experiences one can never claim to understand without holding a rifle in their hands, dog tags slapping their sternum as they run across enemy land. Stevie Rogers, unlike any of the men surrounding her, doesn’t simply understand the war. She is Mars Ultor, the Roman god of War and Vengeance, exiled to 1920’s Brooklyn. In other words, she is the war, whether she knows what that means or not.
Crown Regent of Asgard Tarene Odinsdottir has learned that a good king does not eagerly await war, but remains vigilant and prepared for it.
She is not prepared for Stevie Rogers.

The wind and the rain are raging just outside the confines of his front porch. Soaking wet, wild-eyed, pale, and gaunt, Bucky is standing in the dim light of his porch looking for all the world like he brought the storm himself.
it's been thirteen years since Bucky came home. thirteen years of blood, sweat, and oh so many tears to get them where they are today. and Steve wouldn't change a goddamn second of it.
A character study spanning 13 years that looks at the aftermath of Bucky's abuse and Steve's own trauma.

The hard truth is Steve fears the end of the war, and who’s caskets they’ll be bringing back home with them because he’s not naive enough to really believe they’ll all survive this.
