Summary
Circumstances took away one hero, and there was no to take his place.
For Cruxis it meant an easier time. When the light of heaven came down it should have been to a placid Chosen, not one guided to rebellion by the antics of a dwarf's son.
In expectancy's steed was a priest, Father Tylor Sancrest who was desperate to guard his flock. His accomplice was a displaced elven teacher Raine Sage who knew more than she should have courtesy of a priest breaking sacred vows. Guided by both was Raine's younger brother, Genis Sage. Both elves were seeking the road to better hide from the racism of a world. And among the press of unwanted and borderline traitors was Sylvarant's hope, a Chosen the very angels had abandoned.
Because the lights had summoned her and hadn't heeded. She'd been led to misadventure by a Desian. The catalyst of a failed Regeneration being a trip and broken tech.
They'd made it to Triet, a home coming for their Desian who'd willingly been traded for Colette to make amends, and there they split paths with the barely tolerated Mercenary Aurion. But there were Cardinals to contend, politics, souls to save, and the building consequences for decrees ignored.
