Silver the Hedgehog has been fighting against the apocalypse for seven long years. Finally, he and the remaining mortals initiate Operation Argus to save as many lives as possible. Silver is the only one left behind to destroy everything that remains. But his success is short-lived when the darkness of the east—Mephiles—forces Silver to turn back time.
Back at eight years old before the apocalypse began, Silver endeavors to stop it from ever occurring in the first place. His first step is to kill Emperor Shadow of the Doom Empire, the one who unleashed Mephiles in the first place. Unfortunately, Silver isn't strong enough to kill Shadow, and he, in turn, can't kill Silver because he's... Shadow's blood?
It wasn't in Silver's plans to become an imperial prince, but he decides that he can use this. He'll stop the apocalypse, no matter what it takes.

Due to unexpected circumstances, Silver the Hedgehog is unable to secure a job at G.U.N with his friends. Heartbroken by this, he asks for a way to still do good in the world, and he is directed to N.U.G - a subdivision made for rejects of G.U.N.
Silver willingly takes the job, but it is different than he expected: less pay, worse treatment and more dangerous missions, not to mention that the people working there are the opposite of who Silver would usually surround himself with... but he slowly begins to realise that maybe it isn't as bad as it appears to be on the surface. Silver and Blaze’s lives were coarse and narrow from the very beginning, having grown up in a fiery hellscape as a result of the apocalypse. Silver couldn’t even remember what life was like before storms and fire ruled their world, spearheaded by this terrible beast intent on devouring the very planet they struggled to survive on.
