As a god, seeing the death of mortals is no stranger to Poseidon.
He had been there ever since humans were still nomadic and hunting for survival. Death came quickly for mortals, and to be honest, Poseidon never cared much about it.
Poseidon was a god, and gods were immortal. Especially with his position as the Big Three on Olympus and Lord of the Seas, death was not something serious that he needed to worry about so soon. Roughly speaking, he would never even die.
So, why would a Great and Mighty Poseidon think about something called 'death'?
However, the moment his eyes looked into the pale sea-green eyes of his son, Percy Jackson, Poseidon knew that his perspective had changed.
Percy Jackson was a mortal man. Mortal means not immortal, and that meant that one day Percy Jackson would die.
The God had already fallen in love with his little son, and Poseidon didn't know how to continue his life without Percy by his side.
