Phil’s eyes drift back to the paper, a signature reading Lucas sitting right next to the one he can’t identify as Ray comes to his other side, touching the paper like it was a precious artifact, trailing his finger along the message.
“His name was Yuugo,” Ray says in barely a whisper, but his smile seems more genuine to Phil. “It says, I can’t wait to meet you.”
Even with their survival constantly in danger, they still thought of him. He wondered if it mattered that he had thought of them too. It was ironic that in all his life he had never gotten any letters from his siblings. Even if they never grew up, he now has something to remember the ones who did.
