That was the only thought running through Nora’s mind as she ran. She ran through the storm, Jasper’s gem in her hand, her hand in her pocket, running for the house. She knew they’d ask questions - the gems, Steven - but she didn’t care. She had to fix what she’d done - God, what had she done?
It was a mistake. She’d gone too far. She should have stopped. She should have held back. She should have taken a breather. She should have done anything other than what she actually did.
It had just felt so good to be able to take her anger out on someone who wouldn’t get mad about it - someone who’d even praise her for her strength. It had been great - just living in the forest with Jasper, getting stronger every day, being able to get angry with no consequences.
At least she’d thought.
