In nearly a whisper, as if Lavos cared to hear through the machine, Magus leaned towards Schala's ear. "Janus lives."
The magic in Schala's hands flickered and went out in an instant. Her arms fell limp and if it wasn't for the Prophet holding her, she would have thought she was already dead. "W-what?"

Instead of Schala sending Magus and the surviving party members out of the Ocean Palace, Magus convinces her to leave him behind so she can live. But this means Magus is now trapped in the Black Omen and Schala is left with no choice but to join the others on their quest to defeat Lavos.

I watch as my partner continue wail, and I didn't blame her.
our situation was Dire, with our friend's whereabouts entirely Unknown and having fallen out of the sky, into some Unrecognized Forest.
I wanted to comfort her, to reassure her their friend will be fine, however something kept nagging my mind.
Where was Grovyle? his mind was still a bit disoriented, but he vividly remembers Grovyle struggling to drag him and partner out of the portal before being pull in himself?
Just where is he right now.

Summary
In 12,005BG (Before Guardia) the Kingdom of Zeal lost of their king in a tragic accident. Queen Zeal assumes leadership and while stern, remains fair and caring to her family and her people.
While in the planning phase, Balthasar’s project known as the “Ocean Palace” isn’t built after the three Gurus convince Queen Zeal that more research is needed before they dare draw upon the source of magic directly.
Within this timeline the course of events for some has been drastically altered, as one would expect when the ripples of time flow in a different direction. Lives may have been greatly altered by this slightest change in time’s course, but Lavos still slumbers until its fateful day.

The two monsters try to activate the plan...but something goes wrong, and both are killed while the various deities are wounded...while the Multiverse is torn asunder...and reformed into a massive, always expanding plane. Countless were killed and many places were destroyed...but surviving people, places, items, and animals were placed in the wilderness dominated setting to start a new life in vast, expanding plane.
These are their stories...
