Nero, the primary antagonist of the Trials of Apollo series, was notorious for collecting heroes like Meg McCaffrey and brainwashing them into joining his small army of adopted demigod children. I found it a little absurd that while wandering around Manhattan and searching for soldiers, it didn't occur to him to track down and train Percy Jackson, potentially the most powerful half-blood in the city.
So, here is a completely canon-compliant (I swear that it is, you'll see) fic in which Percy spends two years at the Tower of Nero as a child.

Easy, Percy thought. He could do easy. He barely knew how to hold a sword and use a shield but it couldn’t be too hard, could it? Annabeth wouldn’t assign him something beyond his capabilities. Chiron’s rules would prevent him from really getting hurt. It would be fine.

Ever since Percy found out that he was the son of Poseidon, Percy has been scared of hurting his loved ones. That fear has only gotten worse since his travels into Tartarus, and realizing that he was powerful enough to temporarily overpower and scare gods.
What happens when Percy lashes out in panic, and hurts Amphitrite? He's not naive enough to think that Poseidon will choose him over his immortal wife, who he has loved for eternity.
Sometimes the worst wounds are not the wounds of the flesh, but wounds of the mind.

The fates decided to give the kid a break and put him back in time looking 14 but at the time where Luke and Thalia were 14 and Annabeth was 7. They meet and make their way to camp. Continue to find out the story of Percy and Luke being chaotic and oblivious to each other’s love.
Some trauma, sex scenes (I’ll add them to the tags when I put it in the fic), and other stuff so read at your own discretion. Gay relationship obviously no homophobic bullshit.

The warmth almost seemed to burn his hands, it felt so wrong yet also so right. He heard the water explode from his water fountain, not hearing the attacker cry out in terror and pain. He felt riptide in his pocket as his body decided not to use it, instead pulling more blood from the victim like that of a horror film.
