Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine are dead. Veers is missing. And Piett has surrendered himself to the Rebels because he is operating on orders given to him by Lord Vader. The thing is, the only Rebel who will believe him and aide him is floating unconscious in bacta at the moment.
He and a very frustrated Princess Leia would really appreciate it if Luke Skywalker could come out of his healing trance so that Piett can offer the Executor to the Rebel Alliance. Now if the Lady could just be convinced not to violently release her Admiral as that would put a bit of a damper on friendly negotiations.Series

Summary
Anakin Skywalker lives in a galaxy FAR FAR AWAY . . .
Luke Skywalker has resisted the darkness, and in return, saved his father from a deathly fate. Darth Vader has lived after his attack on the Emperor, and has found strength and hope from the attachments he was sworn never to have. Now, Vader lives on in the Rebellion, who has since attempted to eradicate the rest of the Empire, with the help of the newly turned Sith Lord. Although most are opposed to the Sith fighting on their side, they have since realized he is one of their greatest assets.
Leia Organa struggles with the identity of her newfound father, though Darth Vader hopes she can reconcile with him. It is a battle that Leia hopes Vader will lose, but he is absolutely relentless.
Anakin Skywalker rises up out of the ashes of the Empire, and promises a better life for his remaining family.

Summary
Firmus Piett is used to having to deal with dragon-related shenanigans aboard his beloved ship, considering how he's one of a handful of people alive who know about Darth Vader's propensity to shapeshift, and as such has taken upon the role of damage-controller whenever people begin to freak out about a dragon loose on the ship. Except, when he's informed of certain reptile-related elevator issues, he finds something a bit more surprising...
Upon discovering that the other can transform into a dragon, Luke and Leia quickly realize that they are siblings and together, set off to... well, they aren't quite sure what they're going to do. Yell at their father, yes, but other than that, they don't have much of a plan. After all, who needs a plan when you're a literal dragon?
Darth Vader is exhausted both physically and mentally after literal decades of war and bloodshed, and after seeing no end in sight, has sunk deeper into despair. All he wants to do is make a better world for his newly discovered son, but that task seems more and more impossible by the day, and he's losing hope, despite Piett's fierce adamance that things will get better.
It's just another day on The Executor, or so everyone thinks...

Palpatine is "off-screen" throughout this story, but is very much present in both men's thoughts.
The Executor crew is, for the first time, doubting Vader's judgment and rationality after his officer purge during the events of The Empire Strikes Back.

Or, I saw one too many dark side cookie memes and decided to write a short story about it that ended up with a ten chapter plan that I am definitely going to exceed.
