Summary
The Resistance scored a big victory in the atmosphere of Exegol, destroying a large fleet along with the First Order’s Sith allies, but each and every Star Destroyer that was in service before this battle is still posing a threat to the galaxy. The Resistance needs funds, safe ports and new allies to go anywhere.
One rather unlikely ally they have already found in former General Hux. But despite him having formally integrated into the group, in practice adapting to this new lifestyle takes time. Hux also hadn’t expected that his old capital ship would become critical to the Resistance’ success…Chapter 1 follows Hux and his new companions to an audience with a local monarch. Hux is impressed by the civilization – if only this notion wouldn’t clash with his deeply ingrained belief that only humans were capable of creating something so advanced.

She squints as the stranger takes a few steps toward them, and when a tick, wooly great coat is draped around her and her sister’s little bodies, she can only grasp at it eagerly even though she can barely feel her hands anymore.
The face staring at her and Paige belongs to a man in an Imperial uniform. His features are not monstrous like Rose had imagined from the tales of the villagers. He’s a man, a common man with green eyes and a fiery red beard. She had never seen someone like him, and she just stares at him in awe and fear. There’s not an ounce of kindness in his eyes as he lifts Rose in his arms, still wrapped in his coat, and holds her firmly against his hip before offering his free, gloved hand for Paige to grab.
