Summary
There's something missing. Arthur knows there is. It stands out every day, when he gets into work and sees his terrifying father, and when he gets back to his apartment, when he's surrounded by nobody.
Then he meets Merlin, and something shifts. He feels a spark of life. Something growing.
There's constrain, though, around his heart. He can't let anything slip.
Arthur ends up going home for Christmas with Morgana's friend Gwen as his date, and Merlin as Morgana's.

Unfortunately, Arthur is not only infuriating but infuriatingly attractive, and Merlin cannot help but wonder if Arthur’s guarded looks convey a deeper meaning – one he’s too afraid to admit to.
