Summary
Xie Lian always felt drawn to the fallen Kingdom of Xianle, despite there being very little information on it. He quickly made it his life goal to learn everything he could about the kingdom, so much so that he received his masters degree in history just so he could devote his life to studying it professionally. Now freshly graduated, he accepted a position at the Xianle Museum of History, only to find statues that look eerily like himself, unaware that he was the reincarnated crown prince.

Xie Lian notices how Hua Cheng is deep in thought. He sees how melancholy is ever-present in both the Ghost King's onyx eye and the crimson orb of his silver scimitar, E-Ming; the man sees something both familiar and unfamiliar in his existence.
He knows how he - or, well, his previous incarnation - was deeply in love with this ghost. He is not Xie Lian, but he is Xie Lian.
He wants to ask, but he doesn't dare.
So, instead, he resigns himself to feign ignorance.
