“Did you know?” There was a weight that settled in the pit of her turning roiling stomach as she pulled herself from his touch “ Did you know what she was doing to me this whole time?”
Egwene stepped back from Rand as his face shifted, the calm serene mask of acceptance cracking to reveal discomfort and guilt- a deep guilt.
“My dreams, NIGHTMARES of the Suldam torturing me- they were all HER. All your precious Lanfear.” her voice was thin as the weight of it all came crashing down around her. “ Tell me she was lying!” She demanded with a wail of despair “Tell me your precious forsaken was lying when she said you KNEW what she was doing to me. That a FORSAKEN was more honest while tormenting me in that one dream than YOU’VE been in months”
The air in her lungs threatened to choke her as Rand’s eyes dipped to the floor, the shame and guilt he wore on his face was unlike anything she had seen before.
“I didn’t-” Rand stuttered nervously
“DONT LIE TO ME!” Egwene screamed.
“I didn’t know what she was doing exactly” Rand confessed heavily and a weighted sigh escaped him “I didn’t WANT to know what exactly it was she was doing, but I knew she was doing something.”
