Once upon a time, Mako Mori helped save the world.
But that time has passed.
Now an “extractor” alongside fellow ex-PPDC officer Dr. Hermann Gottlieb, Mako works to steal secrets by infiltrating people's dreams, but both secretly want to clear their newfound criminal records. After a botched mission, Mako and Hermann are offered a way out, but must plant an idea instead of taking it from their target - a seemingly impossible task known as “inception” - and do so on an ex-ally. Teaming up with former friends, Mako and Hermann set off on the extraction of their lives, but personal demons may just tear the job - and themselves - apart.
