    Suguru suppresses the useless urge to reach out— fix the collar of Satoru’s coat, shake his shoulders, tell him to leave this town while he still can. Warn him about the puddle at his feet. Tell him, I will either die or live long enough to go insane here. Do not bother staying. Then, just as quickly, the thought flips. He wants to welcome him, to encourage his line of questioning, to offer the week’s Mass schedule, anything so he won’t risk another Sunday alone.

    The urge is ridiculous, intrusive, rooted in something half-compassion, half-loneliness. No, no, that’s selfish. He cannot indulge the impulse to play at hospitality, not with someone like this. There are warnings for it, in the old letters and older prayers: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels unawares. But angels, too, have been mistaken for devils before. His faith is meant to make room for the lost, not the alluring. His life is not a vessel for his own cravings.

    And yet— Satoru is not the devil, so what does that make him?

    And Satoru—brat that he was—hardly ever backed away from a challenge. So he yawned again, more dramatically this time. He even snapped his fingers in front of his mouth for added effects. The priest shook his head, but couldn’t hold back a smile. Satoru started to smile too, until his father harshly gripped his wrist mid-air and shoved it back down.

    When Satoru is forced into helping out a priest with church activities and learning all things holy under his guidance, as a form of punishment from his parents for being "broken", Satoru is reluctant. But soon, he finds a reason to wake up before sunrise and walk every morning into the same church he had abandoned years ago—when he had lost his faith. The same priest he was to train under. Father Suguru Geto.

    He makes it his mission to break the dreamy man before him, weakening his resolve with his bratty mouth and his stupidly beautiful face. And it works.

    First time writing a fic! Quite literally got the invite to Ao3 today lmao

    Satosugu fic that I’ve been thinking for awhile. It’s currently summer for me, so I should be posting weekly, every Friday(except for the first two chapters, which released alongside each other.) This schedule’ll probably change once I get back into school, I’ll make sure to make a note of that if that does happen.

    Disclaimer!

    There is a toxic co-dependency both on geto’s and gojo’s parts, although nothing ever goes into non-con. A lot of the time it’s just messy feelings and baggage

    Also! I am not mentally ill(at least I think) and I will be trying to mirror geto’s depression within this fic. I may get some things wrong, I have tried to do my research but please correct me in the comments! I don’t mean to misrepresent anyone who actually suffers these disorders/mental illnesses.

    Next, I am not involved in Protestantism or Christianity, so I may get parts of geto’s character as a priest incorrect

    Finally, I am not British so I may get some things wrong bc they’re in London throughout the story.(No nationalities are changed & there isn’t an accent either.)
