    Perhaps a chance ruder then he intended, but it certainly did fit the situation.

    Perseus shoulders hunched over and his face turned guilty. A surprising turn of events for his otherwise very stubborn sibling.

     

    “I know, I know, I shouldn’t have used blood-bending— it’s just, just hard sometimes, you know? The girl probably would’ve died, I was too far away, and I know it’s my fault, but I promise I’m working on it!“

    The rivalry began long before Percy Jackson and Jason Grace met. It began with one arriving at the other's Camp, with one filling the other's shoes. A rivalry does not need attention to grow. It will feed, and fester, and bloat until it is confronted and either defeated or fulfilled.

    Percy's problem isn't with Jason. It's with the Romans' way of things. It's with their child army, and their blind compliance to the gods, and their harsh standards and the division between their cohorts. Praetor Jason Grace is just the easiest target.

    Jason doesn't have an issue with Percy. He just has an issue with how much acknowledgement the gods give the Greeks, with how low the Greeks' lifespan is, with how much freer and happier the Greeks are. He has an issue with the fact that his father still won't acknowledge him, won't talk to him. He has an issue with the sense of wrongness the idea of being Greek or Roman gives him. Maybe Percy is just the easiest scapegoat, but...Jason has no other target.

      I love how Jason doesn't really want to feel this jealousy, but he can't help himself. It makes him so much more human, and it's interesting to read! This takes place over the course of HoO. Last chapter Jason and Percy are trapped by Morpheus. Percy wants to kill Morpheus, but Jason doesn't, so they fight! Percy ultimately wins. After Morpheus lets them go, we find out that this "murderous!Percy" was just an act to get the god to leave them alone. The rest of the seven are praising Percy, while Jason just thinks back to Bachus' words of "You're weaker than Percy" from a previous chapter, and now he apparently understands.

    Hades has never been one to deny himself something. It's in a God's nature to take what they want when they wanted.

    It is within his nature to take the people he wants when he wants.

    His lovely bride. His sweet Persephone. Made of chocolate covered thorns hidden behind a timid smile and a sharp mind. The lamb how was to curios for its own good and wandered right into the belly of a beast and made a home out of hell.

    His nephews. Always two steps behind the other. They found their way inside his castle and no matter how many times he's chased them out with an army, the gaurd dog, or even a broom, the keep coming back until Hades can do nothing but hide the fine China and empty out the guest rooms.

    Even his big sister who he claims to hate will always have a place in his home and if he makes sure that all her favorite meals are made at least once a week that is no one's business.

    And now his younger brother. The obky one he can handle being around for longer than an hour has had a son. A bratty thing that gets on his nerves like no other.

    A boy how was entirely too sweet for him to stomach.

    Everyone knows that the gods have numerous children. Besides being responsible for controlling aspects of the world, that's what they're known for. Demigods are a dime a dozen, and while the gods do care for their children, we all know that they are willing to send them to their deaths for 'the greater good,' or sometimes just for a chance at glory.

    But what if demigods... didn't exist?

    What if there was a Pantheon that couldn't have children with mortals, only producing stillborns and monsters?

    Faced with the threat of It's world's timeline being destroyed due to this cosmic error, Fate itself seeks to intervene. It tears through reality and snatches away a select few demigods to gift to It's Pantheon, erasing and manipulating the memories of It's most vulnerable chosen, as well as rewinding the years on all that It takes, to help with the bonding process.

    This choice leaves 9 demigods trapped in an Ancient Greece that not even they can recognize. Stranded, disoriented, and stripped of their claims, they must tread carefully, for the roaming monsters are not the only threat.
