    Summary

A glimpse of red between fighting Nilfgaards had his heart squeezing, close, so very close.

“NO!” The word was violently ripped from his throat, bringing agony and blood as he saw the sword pierce through Jaskier just as a portal ripped open and swallowed him whole. The last he saw of Jask, his Lark, was terrified eyes and his name spilling from those lips with blood.

Istredd can't stand that a random nobody somehow knows more about his life's work than him. Especially when said nobody refuses to give him a straight answer about where he got his information from.

    Summary

Jaskier researches his family history at Kaer Morhen. It goes a little like this:

“An elven bard,” he admits finally.
    “Hmmm.”
“That makes sense, I suppose. If you carry elven blood in you that would explain the slower aging process,” Vesemir points out. “And your musical talents.”
“An elven bard,” Jaskier repeats impatiently. “And a witcher.” He glances at Geralt whose eyebrows draw up in contemplation. There’s no spark of shock in his eyes and Jaskier tries not to be disappointed. Why would Geralt make a connection between Fjall and Éile and them? Jaskier doesn’t need further proof that the thought had never crossed the witcher’s mind.
“Well, that would explain the other thing,” Vesemir mumbles, a tiny smile twitching across his face as his eyes shift past Jaskier to Geralt.
    “What?” Jaskier asks, shocked.

Also there's a song. And a conversation about feelings

    Summary

Look, Jaskier's got a lot going on. He's painfully aware that there are cataclysmic events happening and that the troubled teenager he knows might save the world or speed along the end of days. He's also in love with a man who's never even admitted that they're friends, which is almost as bad.

Oh, and he's still working as the Sandpiper, only now a terrifying eldritch creature has entrusted him with the Song of the Seven to give hope to the elves and help them fight back against their oppression. It's probably the bravest thing he's ever done, but not everyone sees it that way.

Luckily he knows some people who excel at last minute rescues.

... then he just has to figure out how to tell Geralt why so many people are trying to kill him. This is going to go great.

    Summary

Folk tales always carry out messages. They are created as a warning, to transfer knowledge from generation to generation or to spread hope among those in misery. They are all similar and schematic. However, sometimes some truly unique ones develop out of trival events. Like the ones where the Story Teller turns out to be the Main Character, hiding his identity for the most part of the tale and hurting himself in the process. Jaskier would know a thing or two about it, just ask him.
